Southern Brisbane Locksmiths ("we", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our customers and website visitors. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
Information we collect
- Contact details — name, phone number, email and address, so we can attend your premises and arrange service.
- Service details — the address where work is performed, the type of lock or vehicle, and access instructions.
- Payment information — handled by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
- Website data — standard technical information such as browser type and pages visited, used to maintain and improve the site.
How we use your information
- To provide and schedule the locksmith services you request.
- To verify identity and authority to access a property or vehicle before work proceeds.
- To issue invoices, receipts and to manage bookings.
- To respond to enquiries and provide quotes.
Why we verify identity
As a licensed security provider, we are required to take reasonable steps to confirm that a person requesting entry to a property or vehicle is authorised to do so. We may request identification before proceeding with a lockout or key replacement. This protects you and helps prevent unauthorised access.
Storage and security
Personal information is stored securely and access is restricted to staff who need it to perform their duties. We retain records only for as long as required for legal, accounting or service purposes, then dispose of them securely.
Sharing of information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information with service providers (such as payment processors) strictly to deliver the service you requested, or where required by law.
Access and correction
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you. To do so, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.
Complaints
If you believe we have breached your privacy, please contact us first so we can investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
